you
pronounced your name on my
tongue
so that I’d always carry Africa in my mouth
too large to digest
it was easier for you
to pick its’ countries from my skin
I thought carrying the Nile in my arch
was more than enough to give
but you insisted on capturing
Mount Kilimanjaro too
we spoke the same language of poetry
found stanzas in your eyelids
and used them as storage
for poems incomplete
i fed off dangling past participles
and brought you to
present tense
and wherever I go with words
you are not far behind
writing me into
the hollow
of your jawline

Awe…some poem!!!!!!! http://shawnrjones12.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/tagged-a-unique-award/
